Joan Kran, a 29-yeah-old woman who faked her kidnapping in Tarkoradi in the Western region has been sentenced to six years imprisonment with hard labour.
Joan Kran with a three year old son is said to have faked her pregnancy just to extort an amount of 5,000.00GHS from her godfather.
The sentence, according to the court is to send a strong warning or signal to deter others from venturing into fake kidnappings.
The court added that, it want this sentence to deter people from faking news and serious cases..
